Slice of South Somerset kicks off our partnership with Community Care

The spotlight is a nice slice of South Somerset this week thanks to a fab new article published by our friends at Community Care.

Journalist Tristan Donavon spoke to three of our fantastic team members about practice, career development, team spirit, life and cake!

It’s all part of our exciting full partnership with Community Care Live in the run-up to its big London event on 15/16 October  –  we’ll be there hoping to meet potential new colleagues.

Tristan chatted to Children’s Social Worker Jess Burn and her Adult Services colleagues Jessica Lobo and Sarah Skeet.

Advanced Practitioner Jess talks about how  our career development opportunities and child-centred approach drew her to the county – and kept her.

She’s been with us since she qualified. The same goes for Adults Social Worker Jessica Lobo who praises Somerset’s supportive culture and fantastic teamwork, while Locality Manager for Adult Social Care in South Somerset Sarah highlights our “real commitment to developing you as an individual and to developing good social work practice”.

And the icing on the cake? A sweet team ritual at on the first Wednesday of every month – Pudding Club.

It might be small but it’s a powerful team-builder! Who doesn’t like pudding?

It’s the first of six articles throughout this year as part of our partnership with Community Care.

And in our blog each week we’ll be counting down the days to Community Care Live in London and revealing what we’ve got lined up, as well as talking about our fantastic offer in Somerset…and our beautiful surroundings.

So keep following…
